Electric Car Charging Points
We are getting closer and closer to the Government's 2030 deadline for the end of diesel and petrol car sales. Only electric vehicles are likely to be available for consumers to buy in a decade's time as part of efforts to make Ireland more environmentally friendly. There are currently over 9,000 electric vehicles and hybrids on Irish roads today and this is expected to grow steadily thanks to the availability of SEAI grants. Optimum UCL help clients prepare for the introduction of charging points by installing necessary structural components.
Steps Needed Before Installing Electric Car Charging Points
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an SEAI grant and how will I benefit from owning an electric car or electric car charging point? The Sustainable Energy Authority Of Ireland (SEAI) are helping homeowners, business owners, communities and large industries reduce their energy costs and greenhouse
emissions. A maximum grant of €5,000 is available when buying privately and €3,800 when buying commercially. And when installing an electric car charging point, private buyers can claim up to €600 while local authorities and county councils can receive grants that are capped at €5,000 per charging point.
Electric vehicles are cheaper to buy than ever before as well as being cheaper to fuel and maintain in comparison to diesel and petrol vehicles. Benefits to the environment include significant decreases in C02 emissions and noise pollution.
We will dig up existing surfaces before installing the necessary ducting and fuse boards that are needed for EV charging stations to operate. The cost of installing a charging station can be greatly reduced with the support of a SEAI grant.
